A youNG man named Henry Wolfesberger, whose parents reside on Centre street, north of the Vandalia railroad, had an arm cut nearly off by some kind of a saw—not the regular buzz saw we believe but some other infernal machine of that species—Monday, at Keyes A Sykes hub and spoke factory. It was first thought the limb would have to be amputated, but such strenuous objections were made by the sufferer, that the doctors ooncluded to save it. He will be laid up about three months it is believed.

The house of Mrs. Dlx, on Fourteenth street was also entered on Sunday night ang robbed of a revolver, some jewelry and other trinkets.

The same evening a watch was stolen from the residence of Mr. Dickman in the southern part of town.

Chauncy Miller on First street was another sufferer, though the amount taken was insignificant. Mr. Miller' suffered in his feelings at being treated in that way. 7

Monday night the upholstering establishment of James Hale, corner of Fifth and Mulberry streets, was broken into and a saw and other tools stolen.

John H. O'Boyle's residence, south Sixth street, Saturday evening. Loss about $40 in money, and clothing scattered all over the premises.

Two men were accidentally discovered in Miller A Cox's store, undoubtedly secreted there for that purpose, the same evening. They made their escape by jumping through a back window. No loss.

Snnday night the residence of Mr. James Morris, Water street, near Mulberry, was entered and the family clothing scattered to the four winds. A silver watch and gold chain, the property of a visitor, a young gentleman from Robinson, Illinois, was taken, two dollars from Mrs. Morris, and three dollars from another yonng man in the house.
