One week ago W. H. Soudder transformed his elegant ice cream parlor into a restaurant. Thus f&r he is well satisfied with the change, and his patrons are satisfied also. And why not? In all its appointments it is first-class. He bas one of the best cooks to be had, and is determined not to be excelled. On each Wednesday and Saturday evenings he serves, in addition, ioe cream. Try Scudder's restaurant.
The ladies—had they the right of suffrage—would unquestionably cast their ballots for T. II. Riddle, beoause he keeps such a large and elegant stock of trimmings, hair goods, laoes, embroidery, gloves, hosiery, and all the many and various little knick-knacks that go to make the homeliest woman look pleasing in the eyes of man, and cause her to be envied by the very few who do not trade at Riddle's.
You may array yourselves in splondid, fashionably-cut clothing—you may oven put on the royal "purple and line linen," and if you have a shocking bad hat surmounting your knowledge-box, you will look like thunder, in spite cf your store clothes. We tell you this in a friendly way. Now, don't be foolish, but go right oft to Howe A Yates, "the hatters" and have them cap the climax in a manner that will cause your personal appearance to be perfectly irresistible.

Tb buy the choicest groceries, country I produce, poultry, game, oysters, and every variety of table supplies that the I market affords. Rippetoe seems to be just spreading himself this season, lust to see what can be done in the grocery line. His store seems to be fairly over run with good things to eat.
A shipment of forty sewing machines may seem a great thing to people who are not accustomed to it and under skillful manipulation they may be made to obstruct the sidewalk to a considerable extent, but the agency of The Howe Machine Company has within the past two months had three orders filled each for a considerably larger number than the above mentioned, and several smaller ones beside. But what is very much more to the purpose they are nearly all sold and another hundred was ordered last week. The Howe claims to bo on the lead.

In the Main street stores there has been a heap of decorative art displayed this season, and there are none that look more inviting than the well known and popular shoo store of Noyes Andrews. But it is not the handsomely decorated walls, the frescoed ceiling and the neat and tidy appearance of the whole interior alone that attracts the crowds of customers. It is the excellence of the stock of boots and shoes, for men, women and children, and the low prices, that draws the people. Just look in and see how it is you reel
