As an evidence of the increasing popu larity of Terre Haute manufactories, we note the fiact that Messrs. Wliat is the difference between gross weight and grocer weight When the question is exponnd-ed we will an-ounee the answer." We find this In an exchange. The answer depends altogether on "who's yonr grocer f" If it Is Rippetoo of the White Front, then thero is no difference, for he always gives scrupulously correct weight, and is honost and upright in all his dealings. That's the secret of the success of the White Front.
A gentle bint: A youth and maiden were walking beneath the blue canopy of the firmament "fretted with golden fires," and the maiden, moved by the sublimity of the scene, pointed a taper finger—the one on which the engagement ring is worn—towards the senith and exclaimed: "Oh, Adolphus, Isn't jewelry beautiful." It la unnecessary to add that the ring came from Riddle's, where the largest, the cheapest, and the finest stock of jewelry may be found.

Drop in and see the goods, ladies. Don't mind tho crowd. Just push your way in and call for what you want.
When you can't find what you want at an ordinary grocery store, go to Milligan ft Bond's Marble Front Grocery, north Fourth street, opposlto the First ward school. From an extensive acquaintance throughout the country they have unusual facilities for obtaining constant supplies and the choicest country produce. Their stock of groceries is fresh and pure.

For pure liquors of every variety for medicinal and other purposes, the choicest tobaccos and cigars, the opportunity to purchase with an honest dealer, one whose word can be relied on in those days of ad alteration and imposition, thero can be no doubt that the place to go Is to James B. Lyne's, opposite the TerreH»ute House.
The influence of boots ujion the mind Is very different from that of any other garment. A man may have a shocking bad hat, bat he forgets it his coat may be threadbare but his intnd Is not directed toward It bnt we defy man to stand npright in a pair of stogns with worndown heels, and we believe It Is just as difficult to feel morally upright in them. A sense of meanness posseasou hltn, he feels that everybody is noticing them. He cannot look people straight in the face and feel upon the square with them. He feels the weakness of his foundation, and he mistrusts tho character of the snperafaruetore that they sufaioit, how. ever imposing in other respocts. So go to Noyes Andrews and have him fit you out with a pair of nest fitting boots from custom aned* department} or st a much lees prk* Can soft yon from his excellent stock & eastern manufacture.
