—The haudsomost building in rebuilt Chicago was tho Singer Sewing Machine Company block, recently so seriously damaged by fire. It cost in its :onstruction two human lives and au enormous amount of money. The loss by the fire will not affect the salo of machines in this city, which are going off with astonishing rapidity, causing untold happiness and comfort in many pleasant homes.

Morgan, are now actively engaged in tho coal trade, having reduced their figuroR for the present month so that consumers can get the best quality of Currysville, Pittsburg, Brazil, Otter Creek and Highland Coal, In quantities to suit, at the very lowest rates. We were informed yesterday by one of the parties concerned, Mr. Tailor Kite, of Tennessee, that our new and ouorgotic firm, C. T. Cllpplngor A Co., had closed a fruit contract with him for throe hundred bushels of damsons, the same quantity each of peaches and quinces, and one thousand barrels of apples, tho first shipment of plums to arrive next week. This is worth knowing to the whole country where fruits are scarce.
