THE LITTLE PEOPLE.

A little boy being sicic when his grandmother's iuneralcaroe off, whined dismally, and said there was always something the matter with him when any fun was going on

Oh, grandma," cried a mischievous little urchin, "I cheated the hens so nicely^ust now! I threw them your gold beads, and they thought they were corn, and ate them up just as fast as they could."

A little boy in Detroit the other day gave a little rap on his little drum, and a farmer's team sot up a little runaway, .. and made a little bill with, the wagon maker. The farmer got a thump on his bead, his boy was severely bruised, and the little lioy went ofl to beat his drum elsewhere.

There is one boy in D.inbury who didn't get anything in bis stocking, Christmas. He left a pan ot ashes on the front stairs, to follow an organ grinder, and a moment later bis indul gent father came crashing out the front door and down the Iront stoop, accompanied by that pan and its contents, and looking for all the world like a real god riding in the clouds. For a few minutes that boy thought he had a pite driver for an tncestor.
