Has been doing on immense trade the past week. Who could resist the attractions he presents. The ladies are all partial to jewelry and so, too, ar most gentlemen—at least wo r.ever beard of one refusing to receive present in that shape. There was awful row among my Toys, last night. The snimals somehow, had a terrible fight. The Lions and Bears did nothing but bowl, the tables and chairs were mixed in the jowl. An to look sick, the Horses and Donkies wero kicking and rearing while the cows and ponies through the china were tearing. I could not tell how this trouble arose. The blood was just flowing lihesfitf water flows- Twas a scene of confusion, which I had to set right, so I seised a tin sabre and pitched into the fight. I mustered my forces, got out my zouaves, with one stroke of my sabre I cut a bull pup in halves. I losded five cannons with balls and with shot—and loaded another with a Gilmore stink pot. Then I held out a flag, called them to peace, gave them a warning that the trouble must cease. They meekly complied and returned to their place. While I sought to inquire the tact* in the case.
