FREE EXHIBITION OF OIL PAINTINGS. A collection of fifty Bret-clam oil paintings from the American Art Union of New York city, have been shipped to this city to be sold at auction, at No. 78 Main street*. These paintirgs are handsomely mounted in gold surface frames, and consist of landscape, marine, fruit and figure pieces. The entire lot will be sold without reserve to the highest bidder. We are informed that these elegant works of art are valued at private s".le in New York at from $30 to $2.*) each. It is to be hoped that the citizons of this city will not neglect the opportunity to procure some of them with which to grace the walls of their handsome homes. Catalogues can bs had at the store. The gallery will be opened this afternoon for inspection.
