A young professional who hangs up on Main street while strolling, solitary and alone, down Fifth street a few evenings ago, was suddenly accosted by a auspicious character who invited him to shell out" his money or bis brains, at the same time sustaining his modest request by a formidable argument in the shape of a Sharp's repeater. Strange to say, but the young professional abruptly declined to comply with the request, and impertinently the willing weapon, whereupon a spirited iaaael ensued in which the s. c. lost courage to such an extent that he fled with neither the brains nor tbe purse ol the y. p. The police were called but failed to rally.
The indications are that croquet will be more popular this season than last, and we advise all to inspect the elegant croquet sets at Bartlett A Co's.
