Col. Orr, the Ohio giant, who has been traveling with Van Amburgli's Menagerie, stopped at the Terre-llaute House on Thursday, where he still remains helpless with rheumatism. A temporary addition has been made to an ordinary bedstead which supports his somewhat extended form. Tho rheumatlcks are of the largest kind, though they do not seem to disturb his giant mind.
S. N. Smith, of tho firm of Rabotoau A Co., wholesale druggists, St. Louis, is registered at the Bates. Mr. S. has Just taken to himself one of Indiana's fairest maidens —being married day before yesterday to Emma C., daughter of C. W. Barbour, F.sq., a prominent citizen of Vigo county. The wedding came off at Maple Grove Farm, the residence of the bride's father, some three or four miles from Terre-Haute., As a "backer" in this trying occasion, Mr. S. was supported by John 8. Hays, city editor St. Louis IHxpatrh. An injunction has been Issued, forbidding any one to tell how near Hays and the groom came to being drowned iu the Wabash river, wlillo hunting for the necessary marriage license. So much water thoroughly* disgusted Mr. Hays, there being no less than six Inches In thechannel. Mr. S. and his charming bride have our best wishes. "May they live long and prosper." —Ind. Sentinel.

Their principal companies are the Phoenix of Hartford, the North Biltlsh of London, and the International of New York.
