priation was. requested by the hospital board from the county council. These additional appropriations were granted until the one asked for in September to complete the year's salaries. The eleven people for whom the additionals were refused
were the superintendent, the two . bookkeepers, the record librarian, ' the dietician, the se&mstress, the j
store-room clerk,' the nurses home attendant and the three floor maids. The Mary Sherman Hospital's
receipts are turned over each month to the county hospital ! fund. The amount turned in since L January 1 to October 1,1949 is I $99,167.22. All hospital bills and I salaries are allowed through the hospital budget which is prepar- I ed by the hospital board and su
perintendent. The county com

But a spokesman said the United States "sees absolutely no need for any haste whatsoevr."
