. "For we must needs die and are as water spilt on the ground, .which can not be gathered up again ; neither doth od respect any person ; jyet doth He devise means that His .banished, be jiot expelled from Him." 2 Sam, 14:14- t

In ProvT-ftr read, "There tsa-time to be bom and a time to die," and we all know it is true, yet how little preparation we find folks making for this great change, for better, or for worse, that must ccme to us all. sooner or later. How unconcerned we are about Eternal things, and how. interested in the things of this life, which may at any moment end, for us. J,n Job 16:22 we rpd "When a few vears are ccme. then I shall go the

way, whence I shall not return" and in Psa. 90:10, "The days of our years are three-score years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off and we fly away," either tc a land of fadeless day, or to the "blackness of darkness" forever; and how powerless we are in the presence of deathTJjcre.is only One who can give life, either physical, or Spiritual, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. In Jno. 1 :4 we read, "In Him (Christ) was life, and the life was the light of men" and in Jno. 5:21-26, "For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them,, even so the Son quickeneth whom He will ; for as the Father hath life in Himself, so hath He given to the Son to have life in Himself." Do you realize that it is only by the mercy of God that you live, at all. and that at any moment He has the power to end that h'fe, as far as this world is concerned ? How are you using that which He has given you ? To His glory, for which He created you, or for your own iselfish interests? On your answer to this question depends an eternity of either bliss, or remorse. In the latter part of our Scripture, we read that "God hath devied means that His banished be not expelled from Him." Because of the sin of Adam, who is the federal head of the human race, all men are born sinners. Rom. 3:12 says, "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death' passed upon all men, for that all have sinned." And as Adam was driven out of the Garden of Eden and banished from God's presence, so we too, because of his sin, and , ours, are cut off from fellowship with God, and had it not been for the means He devised, would be eternally lost. And the means He devised, we believe is made clear in Rom. 5:6-10 where we read, "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly; for scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die ; but God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us; much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him ; for if when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life-" This reconciliation, however, is effectual only for those who, through the new birth (not through water baptism), become identified with Christ, in His death, burial, and resurrection; thus becoming sons and daughters of God (as the case may be) and, as we read in Eph. 5:30, "members of His body, of His flesh, and His bones ;" which relationship can never be broken. In God' sight, all such are already raised and seated with Christ in the Heavens, Eph. 2:6, and you may be sure that He will never be through with us, who are saved, until we are there jn person, because God finishes what He begins. . ; ';' Is: thfs. means, which He has devised at the cost of His own precious blood, ajid life, effectual in your case? Does His Spirit bear withess with your spirit, that you are His, and He is yours? If not, you are still outside of Christ, because no one can be saved and not know it. Seek Him now. . (Adv.)

HEAD OF A MUMMY believed to be 3,000 years old is held at the American Museum of Natural History, New York, by Dr. Rebecca Carrion, director of the Peruvian National Museum of Archeology, and Dr. Junius Bird, associate curator of the American Museum. Removal of seven layers of wrapping ends eight days of archeologlcal agony following arrival of the mummy, believed to have been an Inca priest, from Peru's Paracaa peninsula. Says Dr. Carrion, "He's at least 30 centuries old. I can tell by his clothes." Actual age of the graying, red-haired mummy will be determined by Dr. W. F. Libby, University of Chicago. He wUl burn some of the mummy's clothing and carbon ash left will be tested for radioactivity. Amount of radioactive carbon remaining will give the answer. (Infernationa)
