Gcneva-on-the-Lake Beach: town takes steps to keep water clean. WATER POLIUTION, the danger to summer, use of beaches that threatens resorts every season, is fought at 80-year-old Geneva-on-'the-Lake, O., by germiciding sewage with liquid chlorine before waste is discharged from the town's $500,000 disposal plant. Visitor'conscious Geneva-on-the-Lake (a hundred thousand some weekends) takes a bacteria count weekly along its five miles of beach to make jure bacillus coli is not Dresent in harmful auantitv. Sullivan Club Meetings FOR THIS WEEK
The Third annual homecoming will be held at Kirby's Park, one and one-half miles east of 'Shelburn Sunday, August 28. Everyone is invited to attend.
The Patriotic Club of the Frank Neff W.R.C. will hold a social meeting at the City Park on Friday, August 26th at noon. Members are asked to bring a covered dish and table service.
Stated meeting of. Merom chapter O.E.S. Thursday, August 25th at 7:30 p.m.. Officers and members urged to attend. Visitors always welcome. Bonnie Roseberry, Worthy Matron.

Waterloo Third In Three-Eye Race By United Press Waterloo took undisputed possession of. third place in the Three-I League last nignt by beating Decatur, 4 t6 3, while Davenport lost to Terre Hauo. 8 to 7. In other games first-place Evansville beat Springfield in 10 innings, 7 to 3, anrl Quincy humbled Danville, 11 to 2. , t Terre Haute grabbed an early lead, but BortoJotti put Davenport back in the jjamo fcy homering in the sixth with two jbcaid. Davenport took a oie-run lead
with two more tallies m the seventh, but Terra Haute - came back with two in the ninth to win. Waterloo clinched its victory with three runs 'in tho sixth inning. Hurd, the winning pitcher, gave up nine hits while his mates got 10 off Manciel. Springfield tied up its game with a run in the ninth, but Evansville cut loose with four runs in the 10th to take the contest. Quincy's heavy bats got it four runs in the first and four more in the s'xth inning plus one in the fifth and two m the eighth.

Gen. Bradley A 'Cannibal', Russians Say MOSCOW, Aug. 25 (UP) The Soviet trade union newspaper Trud today denounced Gen. Omar N. Bradley as an "overseas cannibal" who wants to embroil Europeans in a war to save American economy. At the same time, The New Times, official Russian foreign affairs weekly, said Russia is no afraid of atomic bombs or any "other kind of blackmail." Both articles were published in connection with the "opening of the all-union .' conference of partisans in the Hall of Columns at the Trade Union House here today.
