"The law of the Lord is perfect converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making- wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. Mpre to he desired than gold, yea, than much fine gold, sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned ; and in keeping of them, there is great reward." Ps. 19:7-11. JLn a wor4d-4a(taHp of people "who are imperfect, because of the fall of Adam, and the resultant curse on all creation, there is Que, and only One, in ' whom " we find perfection personified; "Who is righteous in all His ways and holy in all His works," Ps. 145:17, and Who is "without blemish and without srot," 1 Tet. 1:19, the matchless Lord Jesus Christ: and only one perfect work, His word: and It is perfect because He is the Author and Giver of it: yea, He is the h'.ving Word. His Word is not only perfect, but powerful in that it can 'convert the soul"; "can make wise unto Salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus" ; can "cleanse" and "heal" and "make perfectly whole." Yes "if we rece'Ve it with meekness (obedience) it is able to save our souls," as the writer can testify, because it was while reading it that he himself was saved. Try it, and see for youself. Read ft to be wise, believe it to be saved, and practice it to be holy. It was the wise men, who sought Christ at His birth, that they might worship Him, and they are wise who seek: Him today, "for in Him are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge," and "in everything we are enriched by Him; ;,n all knowledge and in all utterance" and

we know nothing as we should know, until we come tc know Him "Whom to know is life eternal." In Ps. 119:130 we read "The entrance of Thy word giveth light ; it giveth understanding to the s:.mple." The Word of the Lord gives joy, the only real joy that can be found, "the jo of the Lord." In Jcr. 15:16 we read. "Thy words wen found and I did eat them, and Thy Word was unto me th( joy and rejoicing of my heart; for I am called by Th? name, O Lord of Ilosfe." The Word of the Lord enlightens the eyes, which arr the mirror of the soul. Whon the guilt and shame of si" are removed, through the converting power of the Word we can face the world, and death, unashamed, and un afraid. In Prov. 28:1. we read, "The w'eked fleeth wher no man pursueth. but the righteous is bold as a lion.' The Word of the Lord cleanses. Jesus said unto His dis ciples one day, "Now ye are ,clean, through the Won' which I have spoken unto you," and He alone can speak the word that cleanses. Don't be deceived into thinkinp that 'some man, some s'nner like yourself, can forgive sins. The unsaved Pharisees knew btter than this, wher they said, "Who can forgive sins but God only?" In Ps. 119:9 we read, "Wherewithal shall a young man cleansr his way? By taking heed thereto according to Thy Word.' And what is true of a ycung man is true of old men, and

all men everywhere. In Chnst, and His Woixl alone, do Ave find real heart satisfaction, for time and for Eternity As our Scripture says, these are "more to be desired than gold, yea, than much fine gold." Yet men contintie to seek earthly treasures, which at death must all be left behind, and to neglect the great Salvation, wlr'ch God has provided through . His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, in Whom alone we can, or must, be saved.

In Prov. 11:4 we read, "Riches profit not in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivereth from' death." Which are you going to choose, riches or righteousness? There is only one brand of righteousness that will avail, and that is Christ's, not ours, and It is put to the credit of all who, through the new birth and through the new ' birth alone, become sens of God. Have you had this miraculous, transforming, creative work of God in your heart and life? If so, blessed are ye; if not, God's curse is upon you. ' (Adv.)
