PRIVATE HOESMAN IN JAPAN WITH THE EIGHTH U.S. ARMY IN OTA, Japan. Private Ronald J. Hoesmar,, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hoesman of Sullivan, recently participated in the 99th Field Artillery Battalions Organization Day' of the 25th of July. It was to celebrate the organizations ninth anniversary.. In the morning the 99th Field Artillery Battalion received the Presidential Unit Citation. The Presidential Citation was presented by General Palmer who is the commanding officer of the First Cavalry Division Artillery. The day's entertainment consisted of sports, refreshments, and a minstrel show in the even-
HOME EC. CLUB ) MAKES TRIP 1 Tuesday, August 9th, the East Haddon Home Economics club made a trip by chartered bus, driven by Dale Patterson, to Evansville. The group attended Breakfast at Eight, radio station WIKY. The president, Mrs. Don Robbins received a beautiful corsage. Then a visit to the Ideal Milk Co.. National Furniture Co., and the H. A. Satin Dress Co. At noon the group had lunch as guests of Servel. After lunch a tour of the plant was made, then a visit to the zoo. Those of the club who made the trip were Mesdames Amorine Wilson, Scott Willis, Ray Green, Floyd Horton, Ira Woodward, Henry Kaiser, Walter Latshaw, Evan Lloyd, Donald Rpbbins, Bailey Wolfe, Fred Sheffler, Ivan Robbins, Adren Borders, Albert Snyder, Raymond Niewald, and Raymond Pigg. , The guests were Mesdames D. V. Arnett, Eldo Rockenfield, Arthur Nash, Charles Plummer, Al Wickline, George Knotts, Everett Rotramel, Cress Dailey, Walter Nash,'' Harry - Rogers. FRIGHTENED COW GETS REVENGE OWATONNA, Minn., Aug. 18 . (UP) A Hoistein cow, Fright- -ened by a bicycle at the country fair here, lashed back at products of the mechanical age wTch her horns. In her frenzy, the cow damaged a combine and two cars before finally returning to her' stall.
