St. Paul Narrows Indianapolis Lead

(By United Press) A pair of 13th-inning homers pushed St. Paul closer 1 to the league-leading Indians in the American Association today. The Saints overcame Louisville 6 to 5 last night while the third-place Milwaukee Brewers mauled the Indians, 7 to 0. Kansas City ran over Toledo 14 to 0 and Minneapolis bested Columbus 12 to 10. At Louisville, the score had been 3-3 since the sixti Inning when up to the plate stepped Bumby Beladi in the 13th. He homered, bringing in a run ahead of him. Then came Al Biancato. He homered too. The bases were loaded in the first of the 11th when Miller Charles Workman stepped to bat at Columbus. He homered and put Minneapolis ahead 12 to 8, enough to beat the Red Birds, who garnered two more runs in their half. Minneapolis got two earlier homers both in the seventh by Carvel Rowell and John Harshman. Their work set up the extra frames. ' Milwaukee never gave Indianapolis a chance to get started and the Brewers didn't even need Clint Conaster's one-on homer in the fifth. Kansas City got 20 hits at Toledo, one in the first inning on Blue Workman's one-run homer which started the point parade. The Mudhens got to Dave Madison for only six hits. St. Paul is at Indianapolis tonight, Minneapolis at Toledo, Kansas City at Columbus and Milwaukee at Louisville.
