Veterans Slow In Applying For Bonus INDIANAPOLIS, July 27 (UP) The Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs said today that Hoosier war veterans were not exactly rushing to apply for their bonus payments. The Department said about 10,000 veterans applied during the first two weeks applications were available. A spokesman said they expected nearly 100,000.' But there's plenty of time for a rush until Dec. 31, 1950, the deadline for applications.

Rickards and Shelburn continued their chase.for the second half crown in the local Softball league last night by winning their games. Rickards stayed on top, of the league by taking their third straight gamq from Hymera by a score of 7 to 2. Hardesty was the winner with Scamihorn the loser. It marked the third straight loss in the second half for Hymera, the winner of the first half chase. ' Shelburn had to go eleven innings to down the Legion last nieht. but they did it by a score of 10 to 5, getting five big runs in the top of the eleventh. Hoesman was the winner for Shelburn, who chalked up their third win against a single loss. Trmes lost for the Legion, the first game the Legionnaires have played in the second half.
