LEGION AUXILIARY The American Legion Auxiliary, No. 139 held their regular meeting Tuesday, July 19 at 6:30 o'clock. A delicious fried chicken "nwper was enjoyed. Mrs. Bertha Elliott, Seventh District Presi..e'T was guest at the meeting. Following the supper the business meeting was caled to order by President Delia Wyman. Officers were installed for the ensuing year by President Bertha F.Uiott as follows: President, Arlie Springer; 1st vice, Virginia Romine; 2nd vice, Lillian Meeks; secretary, Maxine Dillingham; treasurer. ' Delia Wyman; chaplain, Tressa Thrasher; historian, Beulah Huff, ,and sergeant-at-arms, Ruby Holdson. District President presented the gavel to Arlie Springer. Retiring president, Delia Wyman thanked officers and chairman for their
hearty co-operation during her year as president. Meeting closed in the usual manner with retirement of the colors.

SULLIVAN HOME EC. CLUB MEETS ' . A covered dish luncheon was held by members- of the Sullivan Home Economics club at the home of Mrs. Emory Thomson on Wednesdas', July 20. The tables were arranged out of doors and decorated with flowers. Hostesses were Mildred Bell and Merle Wilson. In the first game on the schedule Eagles won a sofjball league game from Graysville by a score of 4 to 1. Pete Borden was the winning pitcher for the Eagles while Nichols lost for Graysville. Tonight the teams get back into softball league play with two games carded. In the first game Hymera will play Shelburn and in the second "game Dugger will play Carlisle.
ATTEND CONCLAVE OF DELTA THETA TAU A larpp gronn of members of Epsilon Mu Chapter of Delta fheta Tau Sorority met Monday for a mid-summer conclave at Shakamak. The occasion was attended by many former Sullivan Delts who are visiting from out-of-town and student members home for the summer. After a delicious o'r.nic supper of fried chicken and home-made 'ce cream, Mrs. Earl Handford, chapter president, opened the pvem'n? session. A wooded amphitheatre was an ideal setting for the candlelight pledge service held for Mrs. A. S. Reed. The members were much impressed with the unique service for Mrs. Reed's daughter, Joan, assisted by Mrs. Harry Lowry in the ceremony and was given the honor of pinning her mother. The business meeting then began with a most interesting report of Miss Rosetta Ford, the past year's president and delegate to the Sorority's National Convention held in June at Big Pelican Lake, Breezy Point, at Brainerd, Minnesota. Old and new business discussed and projects checked. A rehearsal of the dress revue was held. Final plans were made for Achievement Day. Songs and games were enjoyed. The meeting was then adjorned.
