CHICAGO, July 25 (UP) A mother and her 17-year-old son confessed today that they teamup to rob and beat a cab driver because both were out of work and "we needed money." Mrs. Regina Matczak, age 42, told Police Chief Thomas Reaming of suburban Oak Park that sre watched , while her son, Jerome, clubbed Taxi . Driver Edward J. Mahoney five times with a pistol butt. Mahoney said he preended unconsciousness until the couple left, then he yelled for help. Police found Mrs. Matczak and her son hiding in rorne nearbv bushes. In Mrs.

Matczak's purse was the $9.82 1 taken from Mahoney.
