INDIANAPOLIS, July 21 U.R) Collections by the State Department of Revenue jumped 10.5 per cent in fiscal 1949 over fiscal 1948, Revenue Commissioner John F. Mee said today. Mee said total state revenues for the year ending June 30 were $120,741,352. An 11.6 per cent boost in gross income tax receipts, from $65,154,122 to $72,714,933 was a major reason for the boost in state income, he said. Practically all other taxes showed an increase, he said. The gasoline tax receipts went from $38,592,917 to $41,367,619; intaggibles tax. from $2,016,000 to $2,216,777, and inheritance tax collections frcm $1,895,617 to $2, 701,677.

Pollution Board Orders Hearings On White River INDIANAPOLIS, July 21 (U.R) The Indiana Stream Pollution Control Board today scheduled
a hearing for Sept. 12 after hearing reports of surveys that White River below Indianapolis arrd certain tributary streams were "seriously polluted." Board spokesmen said the report was made by sanitary engineers of the State Health Board. The board ordered a
hearing on the question, of whether the city of Indianapolis had anything to do with the pollution by discharging raw
