Case of Share-the-Taxes HOBART; Ind. (UP) Howard Stevens found that he had been paying his neighbors's property taxes' after his home had been sold for delinquent taxes. The situation arose from a mistake by surveyors in 1897 when they laid out the properties. Stevens discovered that his lot was far from where it was supposed to be. - Knot Tied For Keeps MONTGOMERY, Ala. (UP) That knot which Probate Clerk Simon Wampold tied here five years ago for a Tuscaloose couple was put in to stay. "Kindly accept the enclosed token of appreciation for performing our marriage ceremony Dec. 24, 1943," a note which Wampold received said. "You tied a good knot." Attached was a $5 check. Postman Paul Walker watched on his route and saw a crow remove a letter from a mailbox.
