Indianapolis Gels Beef Price Cut
INDIANAPOLIS, Dec. 15 OI.R)
Managers or a cnain of supermarkets said today they had cut the retail price ofvbeef as much as 10 cents a pound because of the slow movement of merchandise during the Christmas shopping season. The Standard Grocery Co., a division of the National Tea Co., cut steaks from 89 to 79 cents a pound, roasts from 69 t 59 and hamburger from 55 to 49 cents. "Shopping habits seem to be getting back to what they were before the war," a Standard spokesman said. "People are waiting until the last minute to buy meat for Christmas. And there is defintely a good supply of meat."
