CARLISLE

In the past few months there have been fewer reports of deaths from traffic accidents in Indiana. It.is an encouraging sign. Perhaps the lloosier motorist is beginning to be more careful in his driving.

But even with the reduction in traffic deaths, there, are i Alien, and Nancy Elliott helped

still too many ot them. We are entering the period in the 'to make a large Christmas mur

winter when the roads will become worse, there will be more snow and ice, and quite a bit of fog. It will take vigilance on the part of the driver to prevent the accident toll from rising again. It is not hard to be careful on the road. Most of the highways are well marked with signs of curves, hills, and winding roads. The wise motorist takes advantage of the information given in the road signs. It is very important that a driver watch the other driver. Many accidents are caused because one driver does the unexpected and involves a careful motorist in an accident. The state has started well and has a good record for the early paix of the winter months. A little vigilance and careful driving will enable Iloosiers to cut down the deaths due to

traffic accidents. yitM

The high cost of living is the continual enemy of the American women and Mrs. Housewife. About food costs she can do little else' than boycott the higher priced items, but about high clothing costs these gifted women can do much. For a very nominal fee most any woman can take the patterns provided today and stitch a duplicate of any garment found on the retail market. She finds much pleasure in sewing for her children and;,s delightfully surprised at the labor saved by a sewing machine in regard to mending problems. There are many sewing machines on the market today BUT you'll miss the machine she wants if you don't let us show you the merits of the DOMESTIC SEWING MACHINES. Come in and see for yourself.
