"Sin is a blood disease, therefore requires a blood cure." We are born with the disease of sin. There is nothing on earth or in man to remove it or its cause. All man can do is to cover it up, but then it is not hidden from God's sight. He sees to the very rcot of the matter and loathes it with unspeakable disdain. Ye He does not loathe the person who is afflicted with it, but rather has provided a remedy for its removal. , It is so deep-rooted that human eyes cannot see it, and many do not have even a slight realization of its presence. They think they have been "born good" because some ancestor was pious. But their eyes are only blinded to their condition, and God, with pity, says: "Why should ye be stricken any more"? as He said to Israel, "Ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. From the sole of the foot even untc the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment" (Is. 1:5, 6). They tried to cover up their iniquity, like many others do, but their covering was too short, and we might say, transparent. Neither had they anything with which to wash themselves. "For though", said He, "thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much sope, yet thine iniquity is marked before Me" (Jer. 2:22). The Apostle John says, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us" (I John. 1;8). Yet there are those who do not see their need of cleansing, because they do not see sin in themselves. But there is something that can get at the root of the matter. There is something that can wash away the disease, namely, the precious Blood of Jesus. "The Blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin". The Blood has a "dissolving" quality. Its application takes genuine effort. After Its application there is no "eruption" caused by
sin's impurity. It beautifies the deeply penitent soul. It cleanses
in such a way and to such an extent that one bears an illumin
ation of the Divine life and light within. When the Lord washes us from our sins in His own Blood there will be no stains left as we go along our pilgrim way. He does a thorough work. The Blood, of God's Lamb has far, far more power than even "nitre". Sins that have been washed in His Blcod shall never be found again. He puts them behind His back, and, remembers them against us no more. Nothing but the Blood of Jesus can cover our sins. They will sf?ow through everything else. They cannot be dissolved with any mixture, nor destroyed by any poison. They are a stain that can never be removed with anything but the pure fluid that flowed from the veins of the spotless "Lamb of God". His Blood atones for all our sins, no matter how deep-dyed they
are. "The Blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all What a cleansing! What a shelter! " . Through it we are made fit to be the sons of God, and partakers of His glory. Through it we are free from all condemnation. Through it we are "more than conquerors". It is ours tc accept if we will. Advertisemen'
