FAIRBANKS SCHOOL NEWS Our patrol boys are conscientiously doing their duties. We feel that much good is being accomplished by their. Each morning they must pass inspection by their captain and lieutenant. ' Tuesday an election was held at school. The Junior and Senior Civics class were in charge of it. This was a new experience for the students and proved to be a very profitable one.

The first and second grade children are hoping to keep their names on their honor roll as good citizens. As a group they decided on certain qualifications expected of them. A chart was made of these and placed in the room. We are fortunate to have another student enroll. He is Roger Nelson who came from Tennessee. Roger is a sophomore." The third and fourth graders have been quite well entertained since they have-had two parlies. Mrs. Loren Kinnett brought a large birthday cake, ice cream, candy and blow gum to the room. After the last recess they enjoyed the party given in honor of Joyces eighth birthday. Gary Drake entertained the room at his home with a very nice Halloween party. Even the old witch wouldn't have recognized .the people when they arrived. After unmasking, games were played and refreshments were served. The students enjoyed three movies which were shown recent-

ly. They were about the making of records, tomatoes, and people's aid to Europe. The Juniors and Seniors were very glad to have cleared over $300 at their chicken supper. The evening was spent in cake walks, raffling off cakes, and candy,, and dancing. The Trogans were defeated in the first game of the season Tuesday night when they played Prarie Creek. The Trogans started off with a bang and were several points ahead at the beginning of the game. The Gophers came forth with quite a battle and defeated the Trogans 38 to 34. The B team was also defeated., Friday night the softball boys were presented . the county championship softball trophy by Mr. Boston, Superintendent of County Schools. The trophy was received this week arid all are very proud of it.
A new score board has been
purchased for the school and we are hoping to have some donations in helping to pay for it. The students are going to take part in the"Hoosler Relief Special." They have received literature about it from the Student Council and have helped, to distribute this literature over "the township.
