a delegate to the forty eighth annual state conference at Indianapolis recently gave a well prepared and interesting report. Among other important subjects she reported that the Indiana Society D. A. R. had pledged twenty thousand dollto towards building the stairway in the proposed addition to the Administration Building near Constitution Hall in Washington D. C. There are si:i thousand three hundred and thirty two members in the D. A. R. in Indiana. After the business session Mi; Scott entertained the chapter mcst highly by "taking hem to the opera." She chose Bizet's Carmen which was enjoyed by all. Miss Scott was ably assisted by one of her pupils, Miss Ruth Hazel Springer, daughter of Mr. and Mr?. Jess Sorinijer. She played all of the highlight music of the opera which includes the famous "March,' "The Toreador's Song," "The ' Habanera" or "Carmen's Dancing Song" and "The Smuggler Haunt" music. ;
