Mr. and Mrs. Bill Stevens and son rA near Shelburn, attended church Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church here. MORE THANK'S Editor, Daily Times: Please permit me to thank the scores of voters who have telephoned me or told me personally that they approved every word of my advertisement in the Daily Times last night in which I exposed some malicious falsehoods. Friends tell me that certain financial interests in Sullivan , are paying to have thousands of copies of one of the issues of my "USA Fatriot Ediicat or" printed and distributed ever the county. .. j This does not worry me in 'the least because my paper ! steed for keeping the promis es we made to our soldiers, , sailers, marines and fliers ; (male- and. female),, namely that a grateful nation, would provide plentiful jobs at good wages, modem homes, and better opportunity for the vetel an and his children. Instead, a Republican Congiess has killed every bill to provide homes for the vets, has passed a Taft-Hartley-Landis slave labor law to t'bust" the unions and lower w ages, and an Indiana Republican legislature has refused to pass a bonus bill for the vets who need the money now. In my criticism of the Welfaie Department, I want it understood that I am not attacking Judge Walter F. Wood who, in my opinion, has made an excellent Judge and who, unlike ether candidates, has itept his word that he would Ask for only one term, a jledge I, also, have made, and a pledge.I will faithfully fulfill. However, the. old-age . pen- ! sicners of Sullivan county may j confidently expect that if I am elected Judge, a Welfare Beard will be named who will proceed to cut down on expenses for investigators and add the money thus saved to the allowances for the aged, so that the old folks can have the same kind of food on their tables that is enjoyed by the investigators. In a few days, I will give the voters the figures on how the Welfare Board spends thousands of dollars for investigators (and $600 per year for the Beard's attorney) which I am confident can be drastically reduced and the money thus saved granted to the old folks, who, having worked for years and having raised good American families are justly entitled to be treated as Americans. i ' Respectfully submitted " NORVALK.
