MICHIGAN CITY STRIKE SETTLED MICHIGAN CITY, Ind., Sept. 30. (UP) A 13-month-old strike at the Joy Manufacturing Co. ended today after members of Local 766, CIO United Auto Workers were granted a wage increase. The union accepted a new contract at a special meeting last night. Workers were granted a nine-cent pay boost across the board plus increases in holiday pay.

RADIO STATION INCREASES POWER FORT WAYNE; Ind.; Sept. 30 (UP) Radio station WKJGFM today had authorization, from the Federal Communications Commission to increase its power to 30,000 watts. M. A. Kunkel Jr., president of the Northeastern Indiana Broadcasting Co., Inc., said that the power increase made WKJG-FM the most powerful FM ' station in the surrounding area covering 16,750 square miles. -

The failure of such owner or operator to make such payment within said 24 hours shall render such owner or operator subject to the penalties, hereinafter provided for violation of ' the provisions of this- ordinance. Receipts for Fee Paid, Accounting and Reporting. Upon the payment of any of the fees- required by this section of this ordinance, the City ClerkTreasurer shall issue a receipt to such person or to such owner or operator of such vehicle so paying, which receipt shall be serially numbered: and . it is hereby made the duty of the City Clerk-Treasurer to keep a correct record! in a permanent bound book for that purpose only, showing the amount of such fees so paid, the date thereof, the number of the
