4-H Cinderella Girl Back Home MT. VERNON, Ind., Aug. 11 (UP)' The "Cinderella Girl" of 4-H Clubs arrangedher pigtails, put on her best dress and stepped
up to a radio microphone today to tell people how it feels to be on the threshold of a movie career. Ten-year-old Jeanne La Duke, fresh from the first night's sleep ; at home in her own bed since i Hollywood chose her for a feaI ture role in a 4-H film, went to Evansville, Ind., for two radio appearances. Meanwhile, her excited par,ents awaited word from the film capital about plans for Jeanne's return to California. Jeanne said she could ''hardly wait" to get back to Hollywood and start working in pictures. She returned home late last night, got nine hours sleep and fingered a ribbon she won in absentia at the 4H fair at New Harmony, Ind., for baking a buti ter cake. Jeanne's cake, baked July 24 just before she started for Hollywood and frozen until the fair Aug. 3, won third prize. SHELBURN Mr. and Mrs. Herb Weaver and daughter, Karen of Greenwood, Indiana spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Art Weaver and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Basil Holstine and children of Topeka, Kansas are spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Payne. Mr. and Mrs. Cue Bryant of Pontiac, Michigan are visiting her mother, Mrs. Mart McConnell. Mr. and Mrs. Max Stuck of Pontiac, Michigan are spending a few days here with relatives. Cliff Hixenbaugh was called here on account of the death of his brother, Clarence Cochran. Mr. and Mrs. Bish Daniels of Indianapolis spent the weekend here with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Gullett of Robinson, Illinois and Mr. and Mrs. John Pierce and son, Harry of Sullivan were Sunday evening guests of Mrs. Verna Slover and daughters. Sunday afternoon, Aug. 8th at the country home of Mr. and Mrs. Q. R. East of near Carlisle, Lois Brentlinger was united in mar- J riage to Rev. Gerald B. Krueger, pastor of the Carlisle Christian Church. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. A. McCallister, on the beautiful park lawn, witnessed by the immediate family and friends. On the marimba and chimes, Don East played "Always," "Because," sung by Mrs. Marvel Walters, and the Lohengrin bridal march.
