the hat looked best if she wore it upside down and backwards. ' Well, from what we have seen recently, none of them would

j look any worse if they were worn

Both sides were out in force Saturday night as they tried to gather petitions for and against . the proposed hospital bond issue. ; In front of the bank was a table set up to collect the signatures of those who were in favor of the !

power. An automobile was dnv- ! ing down a street in Washington, I D. C, when the motor dropped I out. But the vehicle just kept moving down the street. A little later the driver came back for I the motor. You see, the one that , dropped out wasn't connected to anything. It was just a spare. In '

Down in Alabama, a woman bought a hat a few years ago. But when she got it home she was ashamed of it and just stuck the thing ina closet and forgot about it. The Gerstmeyer fans, who saw the first performance of the girls' organization a week ago last Friday, were taken with it, and thought it was about the snappiest performance they had ever w?eu.beiwcefi halves.

By the way, do you . suppose that the clocks on the Court House will ever be fixed so that they will tell what time it is? Maybe it is from force of habit, but we always find ourselves looking up there to see what time it is, and it is always the same time. It is getting disconcerting.
