That ball game Friday night changed complexions with a suddenness that this corner hasn't seen in a long time. It looked like the Arrows were going to push the Tech outfit clear out of Sportland Field, when a play that could have gone either way happened. Frankly, we don't like

with Hilgediek when he couldn't hang on to that pass, the ball looked like it was thrown forward.

However, the officials; who are always right even if no one on the field agrees with what they decide, said it was a lateral and they gave the ball to Tech on the recovery. From that point, the game developed into something of a jvut.
And for the most part, they played a good defensive game. Huff stopped one Tech drive when he intercepted a pass on the Arrow 24, while Oldham recovered the fumble that started the drive that almost tied up the game for the locals.
However, regardless of how ! the game ended, the Arrows played their best game of the i
season for three quarters, until the terrific pounding they took from the much bigger Cats began to tell in the last period. It looked like the Arrows were just too tired to be able to keep up with the Cats in that period.
The game did a let of damage to the Arrows' chances this week though, (when Mil Carter was badly roughed up in the first quarter as he was punting. He suffered a wrenched knee, and it is doubtful if he will be able to play against (Brazil. Scully also aggravated his leg injury and is hobbling around with a cane.
However, the ork of Den McClure Friday night was such that he shows promise of developing into a capable back, who should take some of the lead off the other men who will be playing.

It would be difficult to single
out any cne player and say he was the best man on the field for Sullivan. Hilgediek ran the way , that piled up much yardage for the big back. He picked up 133 yards in fifteen tries, which includes the 67 yards he ran for the Arrow score.. Pinkston was in there smashing the Tech line, and so were McClure and Scully.
The work of the line in opening the holes for the backs to scamper through was the best they have shown this season.
The Red Devils, meanwhile, lost another . game, this time to Garfield, by a score of 26 to 6. It was the first time that the Imps had scored this year and even then they weren't deep in Garfield territory except for that score. When the Arrows go to Brazil Friday, they will stand a good chance of winning, should Coach Jones be able to find some replacements for Carter and Scully. If not, Brodie vnl
probably have to play an entire game again this week, with the other backfield post filled by a
freshman. .
Still, the Arrows have been a jinx team for Brazil for lo, these many years, and they should win again Friday. If they do, it will mean that not since 1931 . has a Brazil eleven been able to stay in front of the Arrows -'-in a football game. And you can Taet that the Arrows will be in there to keep .that rvictpry string going.
All members are urged to attend.
