"THE CHURCHES OF CHRIST SALUTE YOU."
Romans 16:16
Each congregation listed below extends a cordial invitation' to all who can to meet with them each and every Lord's day and enjoy the worship with them.
GOSPEL of CHRIST ' OUR LORD'S CHURCH
Toward the close of our Lord's ministry He asked His disciples: "But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the Living God." Then Jesus said to Peter: "And I say unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church;" (Matt. 16:15-18). The Lord came to the world to save mankind and He built the church through which to save all who will 'Obey Eim. At the time our Lord made this statement the 'church "was not in existence. "Will build" indicatesthat at some future date He would build His church.' John the Baptist had been dead for about six months, therefore he was not a member of the Lord's church nor did he build the New Testament1 church. John was a great man but he is not responsible for the things which people today falsely attribute to him. "Build" does not mean to overhaul, remodel, replenish or make over a church already in existence. The word "build" does mean to construct, erect, establish, rear or found. Thus the Lord meant to establish or found His church and not to make over or remodel some church built by someone else. Therefore any church that had its beginning before this time was not the Lord's church. Jesus said:' "I will build MY church." He was not building someone else's church, neither was He leaving it for someone else a thousand years hence to build. It was His church "My church." Of course many men have started churches since that day, but being of human origin, we do not read of them in the Nsw Testament. The Lord said: "I will build my CHURCH."
lie did not say "churches" as though He would build a plurality of them. But "church" one church. It. is so confusing today Christianity presents so many churches yet our Lord built only one church. Paul said, "There is one l)ody" (Eph. 4:4) and that Christ was "to -be the head over all things to the church, which is his body.' (Eph. 1:22-23). One body hence only one church. How and when did the Lord build His church? Peter writing to Christians, said: "Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house " (I Pet. 2:5). The "spiritual house" is the "house of God, which is the church of the living God" (I Tim. 3:15). Christians are the "lively stones." Thus the church of God or the Church of Christ is built of "lively stones" placed there by the great builder Christ Jesus. In Acts chapter two is a record of the first gospel sermon in fact and at the close' of that service 3,000 penitent believers were immersed for the remission of their sins and were added to the church. "And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." (Acts 2:47). Thus the Lord adds the "lively stones." He never makes a mistake, He adds only saved people and He adds them to the right church. This is the first account of people being added to the church. It was the beginning (Acts 11:15) of the church. , ' ' Can we find the Lord's church now? Search diligently for it. It can be found although the accumulated rubbish of the past 1900 years in form of creeds, doctrines of men and human names must be cleared away. "Seek and ye shall find."

"Which Company will do the most for me on life insurance?" THE ANSWER MOST FREQUENTLY HEARD IS:"HOOSIER LIFE" The REASON:bOCailSB'. The needs of farmers are given first consideration in determining kinds of policies, in settlement of claims, and in everything affecting the interest of farmers. because: Lower insurance costs result from insuring farmers; also the! manner of handling agency and management policies of the company. because: the Hooaier Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company, founded by the Indiana Farm Bureau, Inc., is your owij organization. It's a good policy to support your own organization; primarily because you benefit by doing so, and secondly agriculture generally receives the benefit.
