The Sullivan golfers will go to Linton Sunday for a tournament. Play will start at 1:00 p. m. Ee there on time. We are expecting ., a large group of Sullivan golfers to be in Linton Sunday.

DOrn at Springfield, Pa., in 1738, of Quaker parentage. After some Study with an artist named Williams, he set up as a portrait painter in Philadelphia at the age of 18. He also lived in New York, then in Italy, and in' 1763 he went to London, where he spent the rest of his life. He was encouraged by Sir Joshua Reynolds. One of his most famous paintings was "Death of General Wolfe." He died in 1820. Americans, on the average eat more than 18 pounds of candy each a year, a report by the Department of Commerce disclosed on June 23.. 1946..

, Anna Eartlett Warner (18201915) was an American novelist who wrote under the name of "Amy Lothrop," She and hei; famous sister, Susan Warner, collaborated. For many years the sisters lived on Constitution island in the Hudson near West Point, and for nearly two generations they conducted a Bible class for the cadets of, the United States Military academy. In 1908, with Mrs. Russell Sage, Miss Warner gave Constitution island to the government. Her funeral services were conducted with military honors. California is said to produce 63 per cent of all asparagus packed in the United States.

Sold at the State Fair's annual auction, the steer brought S3.C5 a pound. It meant a $3,080.50 check to the Pentecost boy for his 1,010-pound animal. Kingan and Company. Indianapolis meat packers, bought the champion for the Hoosier Markets, Anderson. The same buyerB also took the 19)6 Grand Champion at a price of $6 a pound: the 1945 price (at the State 4 H Club Fair) wap $3. Also shown with the boy and his champion are Lt. Gov. A total of 248 steers went on the block in the sale, bringing an averao- pf about $35.50 as compared to the 1946 average of $J6.56.'
