The Shades, 60-year-old scenic park in west-central Indiana is scription for development as the 15th park in Indiana's nationallyknown recreational chain. Kenneth R. Cougill, director of state parks, said state develop ment of the 1452-acre property will result in a visitor carrying, capacity of approximately 150,000 persons annually. Visitations in recent years, under private ownership have numbered approximately 15,000 annually. Cougill pointed out that the Shades lacks most of the facilities which characterize the state park system. Pinic areas are inadequate. Roads are necessary to open up the park's interior. There is no public water system and few trails. The Shades is to be developed for low and middle class income groups with the prime development centering around low cost family cabins. Shades gifts may be made at any bank or by mail to Save the Shades, Indianapolis. s The' Jinn" (plural of Jinnee) were a sort of fairy in Arabian mythology, the offspring of fire.
