MISS JOAN STARK . IS RECENT ES1DE OF ARVILLE FERGUSON, JR. In a beautiful candlelight ceremony, Miss Joan Stark, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. K. Stark of Carlisle, was united in marriage to Arville Ferguson, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Arville Fer guson, Sr. ,of Paxton, Sunday evening, August 24th in the sanctuary of the First Christian church at Carlisle. The Rev. Gerald B. Krueger read the vows of the double ring ceremony before an altar banked with ferns and summer flowers. The bride, who entered the sanctuary with her father, was lovely in a gown of white satin which fell into a medium length train. The finger-tip tulle veil with lace insertion draped softly from a tiara of seed pearls. Her gown was fashioned with a fitted bodice and lea of mutton sleeves pointed pver the hand. The neck- I line had a marquisette yoke,' adorned with quilted flowers. Her only piece of jewelry was a single strand of pearls, a gift of the groom. She carried a shower bouquet of white asters centered with an orchid tied with white satin ribbon. Miss Audrey June Mathers, cousin of the bride, was maid of (, honor. She wore a gown of lav-1 ender tulle and carried a shower bouquet oi lavender ana wnne. Her lavender and white headdress was of tulle ruching. Bridesmaids were Misses Dorothy Gilmore and Martha Lee Watson, who wore blue summer formals, and Doris Ruth Robertson, who wore a pink summer formal. The bridesmaids wore corresponding headdresses and carried summer bouquets tied -with contrasting ribbons. William Hannah of Keystone, Indiana, served as best man. Ushers were Wayne E. Fuson of Bloomfield, Indiana, and Bill Roesner, Carl Sproatt and Jack Livingston, all of Carlisle. ' Little Miss Judith Ann Stier-Vv-slt, in a floor-length gown of blue, served as flower girl. Mrs. Martha Mackey sang "I Love You Truly," ."Indian Love Call" and "Always." i Mrs. Stark, mother of the bride, wore an aqua street dress with black accessories. The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Ferguson, wore a medium blue streeti length dress with black accessories. Both had corsages of pink asters and rosebuds. Following the ceremony a re ception for eighty guests was held at the home of the bride s parents. A three tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom formed the centerpiece at the bride's table. Crystal candleholders with white tapers completed the decorations. Those assisting at the reception were Lois Ann Nievvald, Charlene Thomas, Martha Mackey ana carolyn Fuson. They all wore blue summer formalsi The bride chose for her goingaway outfit', a two-piece aqua dress with black accessories. Her corsage was an orchid. Mrs. Fergusoji was a member of the 1947 graduating class of the Carlisle High School. A graduate of the same school in 1946, Mr. Ferguson is employed by the Kroger Grocery Company. Following a short wedding trip the young couple will be at home at 304 W. 9th Street. Bicknell. , Indiana. PITTMAN REUNION The annual Pittman was held at the Farmersburg park Sunday, August 24th.
