We understand that JOHN TAYLOR had quite a session of golf the other day. He-was coming to number eight hole on which par was five. He made the hole in three. The good part of it was that he made a hundredyard drive which landed within one and one-half inch of the cup.

We wonder how far along his journey the "man with the goats" is.

Someone told us a story about a farmer down near New Lebanon who is cold packing green beans while his wife is in Florida.

Now when Flash, the country boy, finds out about the above article he will probably tell us how good he is at cold packing beans.

This housing shortage is really getting bad. There was a woman in Chicago who found two owls roosting in her furnace in the basement.

Then there was another woman in Chicago who was having a bad time. The other day she was in a department store' and a man approached her and wanted to sell

her some nylons. She gave him some money for a down pay

ment but when she went to receive her stockings the company had never heard of the man. If this had been during war times the lady would probably have got a posse after the man, not on account of the money, but be

cause of not getting her nylons. ,

Sullivan Club Meetings FOR THIS WEEK

The "Windy City" is having a lot of funny happenings lately. There was a cab driver who got to go swimming with his clothes on. He was crossing a bridge when he heard a rattle in his car. He leaned over to check the defect and when he straightened up he found that he was about to hit an on-coming car. He swerved his car and careened off of the bridge. Luckily the cab landed upright and he wasn't hurt.
