t: .. That all the world loves a lover was never more true than at present. The wide publicity given to the engagement of Princess Elizabeth and Lieut. Philip Mountbatten bears this' out. It is the first time in English history tlat a princess who wfis the heiress-apparent to the British throne has married. The only other British queen to marry was Victoria, and she wasn't married until after she was crowned. The job of being consort to the queen isn't an easy one. The pri-nce consort can never hope to outshine his wife. She is the boss. She will always be in the limelight, and he will always be in the shadow. ,.If the husband of the queen ever gains any fame, it may be such as that acquired by the other prince consort, Prince Albert. He gained fame by having a pipe tobacco named after Mm, and for weaving a double-breasted frock coat. But anyway, 'we wish both of them happiness.. We hope that the empire survives so that Elizabeth may some day succeed. We also hope that she has a chance to prove that modem queens have the same punch as their grandmothers.
