THE UNITED AUTOMOBILE WORKERS have rejected the offer from the Ford Company for a wage increase under a new contract because it. did not include an old-age retirement plan. The offer of fifteen cents an hour increase was similar, to that made' to and accepted by the workers in most of the automobile plants " of other concerns. The spokesman for the union said that with a. retirement plan added, the union might accept the wage contract.

THE INDIANA STATE POLICE are planning to use light airplanes to keep the traffic to and from the Speedway in Indianapolis moving tomorrow. Starting at dawn, a four-place plane will be in the air to observe traffic on roads leading to the Speedway and to give instructions by radio for straightening out ' the snarl?.
