all-star vs. Indiana varsity game on May 10 as a part of "Cream and Crimson Day." The contest will follow the Indiana-Purdue dual track meet in Memorial Stadium and will culminate the Ffoosiers' spring grid drills. ! Bob Zimney and Ed Bell, play-ing-coaches for the all-star eleven, are both former regular tackles on the I. U. team in 1941 and 1942. Bell played with the Miami Seahawks while Zimney was a regular tackle with the Chicago Cardinals. The all-stars have been drilling daily for the last two weeks. Wedding Announcement Party Mrs. Leland Anderson was hostess Thursday afternoon, April 24, from 4:00 to 6:00 o'clock in honor of her daughter, Joan, whose approaching marriage to Harlan VonOver was announced. Pink and white, chosen colors of the bride-to-be, were carried out in home decorations. A silver bowl with pink snapdragons centered the dining table with tall pink candles at either end of the table. Hidden among the
snapdragons were tiny envelopes from which were radiated to each piece a tiny ribbon with place cards attached, On the cards were written the events of the wedding. Bavarian whip, dainty iced cakes and punch Were served. Covers were laid at the table for Mrs. June Harbin and the Misses Verona Tislow, Mary Lee Howard, June Wineinger, Jerine Anderson, Margaret Booker, Barbara South, Mary Ann Borders, Lillian Smith, Barbara Walters, Mlartha Sue Davis and Joan Anderson. Thursday Club Meets Mrs. W. R. Johnsorr was hostess to the Thursday Club at their regular monthly meeting on Thursday afternoon, April 24. The president, Mrs. E. B. Minich called the meeting to order and all joined in repeating the Club Collect. Minutes of the last meeting were read and roll call was answered by naming a favorite spring flower. A report of the nominating committee was given and was as follows: President, Mrs. W. R. Johnson; Vice-president, Mrs. Dercie Orr; Secretary, Mrs. Bertha Evans, and Treasurer, Mrs. Faye Kixmiller. Mjrs. Bertha Evans read an article on Castles of Ireland. The hostess served ice cream, cake and coffee. Table decorations were bouquets of spring flowers. Those present were: ' Mesdames E. B.
