BASKETBALL MOTHERS CLUB TKe Basketball Mothers club met Monday, April 28th- at the home of Mrs. Gordon Keck. The meeting was opened by the secretary and treasurer reports given by Mrs. Catherine Kaiser. Committees were appointed to make the final arrangements for the banquet to be held May 13. The club will meet with Mrs. Effie Southwood May 12. Mrs. Keck and Mrs. William Keck served refreshments to the following members: Mjesdames Virginia Sevier, A. B. S. was held Wednesday, April 30th at the Rose school building. t;The president called the meeting to order and the . opening song, "In My Heart There Rings a Melody" was sung in unison. , The scripture lesson and a few facts about Mark were read by Myrtle Brocker. Prayer by Alice Monroe. After the business meeting an interesting program was given, with each member contributing something to the program. One interesting 1-sature was a number of Bible questions, asked by Mrs. Brocker, with the result that a number went home to search their Bibles to find the answers. The better one knows the author of the Bible, Jesus, the more interesting the Bible becomes. 'The following members were present: Mesdames Vera Barden, Mattie Hart, Edna Unger, Ada Hart, Alice Monroe, Eva Hallett and daughters, Ruth and Martha, Beulah Sisson and daughters, Mary and Milly, Myrtle Brocker and Elsie Sanders. ADAMS-ABEL VOWS READ ..Veneda Adams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Adams of Sullivan, R. 4, became the bride of Richard Abel, son of Mrs. Earl Gulley of Terre Haute, R. 3, at the home of the bride. The Rev. Jake Smith read the vows. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bemis o Terre Haute were their attendants. - ' X - v, ; The bride wjpre awhite dress of silk twill trepe with a Mace yoke and net overskirt. Her corsage was of red roses and white carnations. f ' ' Mrs! Bemis wore a dress of pink butcher linen and a corsage of sweet peas and pink carnations. After the ceremony a' threetiered wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom and ice cream were . served to 32 relatives and friends.
