On Army Day it is both natural and right that our thoughts should turn to the past to the dark days of war, and to the heroic sacrifice of the men and women who suffered and died to maintain our freedoms. But if we are to prove worthy of that sacrifice we must also look ahead toward a day when all peoples can live without fear of war. What can we, as individual Americans, do to speed the progress of the world along that road? -
national policy of wisdom, patience and firmness. And we can insure world respect for such a policy and the safety of our national ideals by backing them with an alert military force, well prepared against surprises. Only a strong America is a safe America. As we celebrate Army Day this year we can be thankful for the disciplined men and splendid modem equipment that protect the "ramparts we watch." We know their strength will never be used for greed or conquest. -
We can give our understanding support to an inter- During the week of April 7-12, your Regular Army,
the National Guard of the United States, the Organized Reserve Corps, and the R.O.T.C. will present exhibits and events which everyone is invited to attend. By witnessing these displays you will get a much clearer picture of the fine type of men who are patriotically giving their services to their country. They, in turn, will welcome the interest you show in .vhat they are doing in the cause of national safety. - A STRONG. AMERICA ISA PEACEFUL AMERICA
