The Power Of A Woman Never underestimate the power of a woman. . A little old lady in Hanna, Ind., decided she wanted to go to Atlanta,; Ga., so she wrote the Pennsylvania Railroad, and said would they please stop for her near her farm? And, they did. ' ' ' ' . You see, when the railroad was built through Hanria, her lather owned the land that the railroad wanted. He sold it to the company, only on condition that the man and all his lineal descendants could stop any train on the line to boaVd.it, or get 'off it when they wanted. When the lj.ttle old lady decided to make a trip, she just reminded the railroad of that fact, and she got her wish. The train that usually goes through the town about seventy miles an hour stopped to pick her up. ' " r New, she is coming home, and the fast express will stop at the little station to let her off. . . Yes, the power of a woman.
It Looks Like Spring ; It looks like Spring. . .' . All day, a soft rain has been falling in Sullivan. It is almost warm enough to go without a coat. It is too warm in an office to do any work, and the office help has that far away look in their eyes. They are thinking of other things beside work. ' 'In the newspapers, there are stories about the baseball training period. Ted Williams is' still bothered by that Boudreau shift. The new stadium in St. Petersburg, Fla., was dedicated, with the crack of the bat against the ball. . Basketball is almost over, the State tourney is in the final play-down for the championship.
Many a man has those golf clubs out, getting them ready for the day when he can yell fore when he slices on, instead of driving it down the middle of the fairway. " Others are thinking about those gardens. What will .it lie? Will I put in more. radishes this year? . Maybe I should have a 'few more carrots? ' . -
Ye?, it looks like Spring is here again. '.
