PLUSH OUT KIDNEYS THIS DOCTOR'S WAY Backache, loss of the old pep, getting up nights, and headache are often caused by nothing more than improper kidney action due to excess acid in the urine. The kidneys are one of Nature's ways of removing impurities from the blood. And when these impurities back up, trouble may start. So if you have these troubles, give youf kidneys and bladder a good flushing out by taking Dr. Kilmer's Swamp-Root. It works on the kidneys to flush them out ; . . increasing the flow of urine to help relieve that excess acidity and ease that burning sensation when you pass water . . . helps that bladder irritation that makes you get up nights. Made of 16 herbs, root3, vegetables, and balsams, Swamp-Root is absolutely nonhabit forming. Millions have taken it for 3 generations . . . often with wonderful results. Caution: take as directed. "THE CHURCHES OF CHRIST SALUTE YOU." Romans 16:16

Paxton announces their preaching date as the second Sunday of each month, with Bro. Herman Goble doing the preaching. The Concord congregation announces that Bro. Frank Adamson will preach there the second Sunday of each month.

"Except the Lord l.uild the house they labor tu vala Hat build it: e'p.l-Jjpr.4 ecjthe city, the watchman waketh but In vain." Ts. 137:1.

GOSPEL of CHRIST The Old Testament and The New Testament Church

If the difference between the Old and New Testaments is not clearly understood the plan of salvation becomes muddled and there can be no clear distinction between those saved by grace and those who need to be saved by grace. There are, in the history of man, two distinct churches (1) the Church in the Wildness (ident'fied bv Steohen in Acts 7:38 as the church of Israel, answerable to the law of Moses), and (2) the church of Christ (named by Paul in Romans 16:16 and said by him in Hebrews S to be subject to the New Covenant). These two churches never did occupy the same ground. The latter was riot established until the former was taken . away. ". . . He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. Bv the which will (covenant) we are sanctified . . ." Hebrews 10:9-10. S;nce the Old Testament ended at the cross, the New Testament church was not in existence during the lifetime of Jesus. That is why . the Thief on the Cross did nnt have to obey the gospel of the New Testament to be saved. If it were still in force today none of us, who are Gentiles, would be subject to it, for the Old Testament was a law for the Jew only, and W3s never intended to be kept, at any time, by any other person save a Jew. Furthermore, the Law of Moses never did conta;n a plan of salvation for anyone not even the Jew. The church of Christ is strictly a New Testament church. "For where a Testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead;

otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth." Hebrews 9: 16-17. Jesus is the Testator of the New Testament. That test?ment was of no ; strength at all while the Testator lired. That fs why we know that the church was not established during His lifetime. The New Testament is the law and the only law for the New Testament church. A church using some other l3w than the ' New Testament cannot be a New Testament church. In giving the New Testament (or covenant) Jesus commanded that men believe the Gosoel in order to be saved. ". . . For if ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins." Jno. 8 :24. In the same testament he made salvat:on available only to the relenting. "Except ye repent ye shall all likewise perish." Luke 13:3. The fact that repentance and faith are not the same thing, 2nd Jesus says without repentance we perish, makes us know that salvation cannot be had upon the basis of faith only. In that same testament Jesus made baptism essential to salvation, saying in Mark 16:16 "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved." We do not dare to contradict the Lord, saying, "He that believeth and is not baptized shall be saved." Upon these terms of pardon Jesus offers salvation to all men, by the New Testament; and His church is strictly a New Testament church. It is directed solely and completely by His Testament, the New Testament. He is its Head, and its Savior. AH that it is, it is by His power, and all that it does, it does by His authority.
