INDIANA SENATE TO PROBE BURCH PRIMARY FIGHT A four-member Senate committee will open an inquiry tomorrow into the activities of State Auditor A. V. Burch, only Republican state official supporting the direct primary, in connection with his attempts to secure passage of a primary bill now before the General Assembly. ' The GOP-controlled Senate yesterday voted the investigation after Sen. Samuel Johnson (R.-Anderson) introduced a resolution charging that Burch's employees had brought "undue pressure" for passage of the bill on farmers who visited the auditor's office to receive gasoline tax refunds.
