"One of the good points of the winning program is the care with which some , particular phase of- a general subject was chosen, references selected and the paper presented as one ap proach to- the problem.. ."Such division and choice may be -partly the contributing factor in, partly the result of, choosing a year's subject that is big enough but not too big if each individual program contributes directly to the study of the major problems, a well-integrated general program almost automatically is, achieved. The winning programs have this characteristic of unity. "The Generally fine ciuality or the entire set of programs submitted made the judging a delicate task but a very pleasane one.
