This Situation Might Confuse Confucius

CLEVELAND (UP) Confusion not Confucius, has been reigning in Chinatown here. This city's Chinese population couldn't agree on when to celebrate Chinese New Year. Some figured it would fall in late February. One man held out for January 22, and the rest have been given their abacuses a work-out trying to decide for themselves. The dispute Is because an airmail shipment of Chinese calendars was overdue. According to the Chinese calendar, 1946 ended Dec. 31, which is Dec. 2 by the Gregorian calpnriar. f endar. 'Chinese Decembers have only 30 days," said Wing Chin, a Chinatown resident. "Some years have 13 months. And they ue it. wails of Rome, a three-story battlement of brick and mortar. Like the denizens of New York's Greenwich Village and London's Soho, some of the walldwellers are fairly normal. Others are eccentric. . Take the "Flying Dragon," for lnstance- Tne "Dragon" is 80 years old. He's been Iivinr in vint ig rf j his studio whicn just above jthe kjtchen. The "Dragon's" real name is Giulio Folchi Vioi, but since his brother died last year, he claims the title of "Flying Dragon," the "last surviving flying dragon of the walls of Rome." Where the title originated is somewhat of a i mystery. . ' j Giulio doesn't look like a dragon at all. But every so often f he smiles and reminds his visitors 1 that he is the "one and only flying dragon." Then he shows them his vest-pocket castle.
