CLUB MEETS Today's events make tomor
row's history. This period of time following World War II is I filled so full of events that it 1 was difficult for the committee giving a current events forum to choose those items which would most likely be important history. Their selections, however, were most interesting and directed the club members' attention away from pretty personal worries and toward a better understanding of world problems. j The forum committee, com- j posed of Mrs. Ronald Burdge, Mrs, Gus Lowry and Mrs. A. B. Libke, discussed 'subjects rang-, ing all the way from the impor-l tant United Nations conference down to "Who is Kilroy?"' Top-1 ics included were United Na-! tions Assembly, United Nations i Relief and Rehabilitation Ad-! ministration, Congress and its bow before television, Labor and the Law, the proposed and much discussed marriage of Princess
Elizabeth of England to Philip of Greece, the fresco of The Last Supper painted by Leonardo da Vinci on the wall of the refectory of Milan's Church of Santa Maria Delle Grazie; and for comic relief, a discussion was given on the future methods of cooking by radio waves and- the world's great problem of discovering who Kilroy is and how he is able to get to the ' most inaccessible1 points of this earth. During the business meeting, the .following officers were elected and appointed for the coming year: President, Mrs.- Dillon Routt; Vice-President, Mrs. Carrol Frakes; Secretary, Mrs. A. S. Reed; Treasurer, Mrs. H. C. Gilmore; Critic, Mrs. Ronald Eurdge; Parliamentarian, Miss Maude McConnell; and Reporter, Mrs. A. B. Libke. . Mrs. Frank Linnell played a group of piano solos, numbers from musical comedies which included four songs, "Lover Come Back to Me," from New Moon; "Make Believe," from Show Boat; "One Alone," from The Desert Song; "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes," from Roberta; and for an encore," "Star Dust," by Carmichael. Mrs. Linnell's talent is very outstanding and her program was well received and enjoyed by the club. '

"AH Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, fcr reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." , II Tim. 3:16-17. The above scripture, like all the word of God, is worthy of our study in our effort to show ourselves approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed. We can easily comprehend the profitableness of the doctrine of God, because it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth. Of course, trf those who do not believe, it does not result in salvation. "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." Mark 16:15-16. The first above scripture tells us of the value of the inspired word of God, in that it reproves all things which we
may have in our lives that are contrary to His doctrine, and that if we believe in and accept it, that correct-on of those things wherein we arc at fault will be made; otherwise no profit will accrue to us. Herein lies the test of the man: whether or not he is willing to permit the insp'red Scripture to reprove and correct his life. Our study also reveals that the man " who fully accepts the instruction in . righteousness that comes only from the Scripture may be made perfect, thor
oughly furnished unto all good works. Then if the Scripture alone thoroughly ' furnishes a man to every good work, why have any creed or doctrine written by man in addition thereto. i It this not a fair question, to) ask our- ' selves: : ' 1 :y y';:-: '. ;--:-':;.; .j.v W7hen we add to the Scripture a creed or doctrine written by men, is not that addition in itself an admission of our lack of faith in the completeness and power of God's Holy word?
