The speech class, under the direction ' of Mabel Nowlin will present a ' Christmas ; play, "The Six Who Kept Christmas" before I the assembly on December 20th. Many are. pleased with their pictures and will give them as Christmas gifts to relatives and friends. - . Red Cross gift boxes are being filled by the pupils of JuniorSenior high school to be sent to Finland.' Mrs. Edith Harmon has charge of mailing the packages. Pupils who brought gifts will write letters to accompany each box. Answers from the Finnish children will be eagerly anticipated. Elm Park School The first grade children are having much fun packing the four Junior Red Cross boxes for overseas. We enjoyed our letter thanking us for those sent last year. Our room has 100 membership with $2.57 contributed. Second, third and fourth grades packed one box each; Total amount of money contributed for Junior Red Cross $5.96. The third grade is busy studying Indians. We have built a tepee for the room and each us us made a large picture of the Indians doing- some 1 type . of , work. We picked Sandra Anderson's, Clara Ford's, Linda Milam's, and Patsy Saucerman's pictures to be hung in our Indian corner. The class is proud of Bobbie Engle. He colored the best Christmas Seal Poster and was given a theater ticket, t Mrs. Herbert Ladson and Mrs. Cora Wright visited in the second grade Friday afternoon. The fourth grade, after completing the study of jungle lands made free hand drawings of both the Amazon- and - Congo jungle villages.
