G. Alig, accompanied by Mrs. Adams, charmingly sang "O Holy Night," after which the program was closed with group singing of carols. In an atmosphere of neighborly conversation, a delightful tea was served, after which there was a gift exchange. Members present were: Mesdames. Ralph Adams, F. G. Alig, E. A. SEVENTH DISTRICT LEGION MEETING The regular meeting of the 7th District American Legion and Auxiliary was held Sunday, December1 15th at Vincennes. CLUB The Crossroads Home Economics Club will hold their December meeting at the Benson Chapel Church December 19. Members are requested to bring a covered dish and a 59c gift exchange gift. All members are . to bring a guest and some contribution toward the Christmas program. CANTEEN NEWS The members of the Dart and Arrow had a fine time Wednesday nighf singing carols and popular songs. Mrs. Stein of the Fritz Stein bakery played Ike piano. The canteen will not be open next Wednesday night but will be open Tuesday after the game. Everyone is lending a hand in decorating the canteen for the holidays. Although there is to be no Christmas dance, it is hoped there will be one for New Year's Day. mmm . WARTIME OFFICERS MAY GET REGULAR ARMY COMMISSIONS INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., Dec. 17 Wartime officers of the Army who have returned to civil life still have an opportunity to secure a commission in the Regular Army, Colonel C. A. Beaucond, Executive of Indiana Military District, announced today. Mil wartime officers who are interested in a Regular Army career are reminded that the closing date for receiving applications for Regular Army commission is midnight December 31. Information about Regular Army commissions may be obtained at any Army post or Army Recruiting Office, or by writing The Adjutant General, War Department, Washington 25, D. C.
