He never once shunned his country's call, but gladly gave his life, his all. He died the helpless to defend, a faithful soldier to the end. Two years have passed since he was called away, our hearts cannot tell us what to say. God alone knows how we miss him in our home that is lonely today. The days of his life were numbered, when the messenger whispered low, "The Master has come and called for thee," : Ival answered, "I am ready to go." The call was sudden,' the shock was severe, we iittle thought his death so near. Only those who have lost can tell the pain of parting without farewell, and while he rests in the ocean deep, his memory we shall always keep. For just when the days seemed brightest, just when bis hopes seemed best, God called him from among us to our eternal rest. Sadly missed by Mother and the Family.
