Mr. and Airs. Ermil ' Dyer of Sullivan route one announce the marriage of their daughter, Phyllis, to John William Meng of Carlisle route three. The vows
were read Monday, November 25th at 7:30 a. m. by the Rev. Thomas Jennings at Merom.
The bride was lovely in a
street length dress of aqua with
brown accessories. Her corsage was of red roses.
After the ceremony a reception
was held at the home of the bride's parents.
The bride and eroom are botn
graduates of the New Lebanon High School. The young couple will make their home with the

The monthly social club of the
Hud Crowder W.R.C. met at the home of Mrs. Charles Usrey Fri
day, November 22 with 21 members and three guests present.'
The meeting was called to order
by the president, Mrs. Vern Moore with all singing "Ameri
ca." The Lord's Prayer was repeated in unison. Mrs. Moore read a Thanksgiving poem. The secretary's report was given for the
last meeting. The Thanksgiving
meeting will be held in the Woodman Hall with turkey and
all the trimmings. The meeting was then turned over to the. pro
gram committee. The chairman,
Mrs. Pyles, took charge. Readings were given by Mrs. Paul
Thompson and Mrs. Hannah Mur
ray. Mrs. Tressa Houston gave a very interesting report on her vacation trip north. Two contests
were conducted with prizes go
ing to Mrs. Houston and Mrs. Pyles. At the close of the pro
gram' the hostess, Mrs. Usrey and
her assistants, served delicious
pumpkin pte with whipped cream and coffee.

Hawkins-Hartfelter Vows Read; Couple On Motor Trip Through South The Rev. and Mrs. Stewart W. Hartfelter have left on a motor trip through the South following their marriage at 8:30 Friday night in the Tabernacle Presbyterian Church. For traveling the bride chose a dress of wine-colored crepe with epaulets and peplum of knotted cording, silver blue muskrat coat, alligator accessories and an orchid corsage, ' .
Mrs. Hartfelter is the former
Miss Carolyn Hawkins, daughter bf Mrs. Bertrand S. Hawkins, 311 Berkley Road, Indianapolis and
Rev. Mr. Hartfelter is the son of Mrs. Charles William Hartfelter, formerly of Sullivan, now of 5249 Central Avenue, Indianapolis.
The Rev. Roy Ewing Vale, assisted by the Rev. Harry R. Mercer, officiated at the single-ring ceremony which was followed by a reception in the women's parlor of the church. Gaylord Allen Hawkins gave his sister in marriage. She wore a gown of white silk fashioned with long sleeves accented with shirring, slim bodice with bustle bow in back and full skirt extending into a train. A tiara of
pearlized orange blossoms, which had been worn by the bride's mother, held in place her tulle veil, and she carried a white orchid and a white prayer book caught with ribbons, ivy and bouvardia. The matron of honor, Mrs. William C. Montgomery of North Salem, wore American Beauty crepe and carried American Beauty roses. The bridesmaids were Misses Priscilla McLaughlin, Sharon Marlowe- and Suzanne McLaughlin. They wore taffeta gowns of French blue, canary yellow and peach, and carried shower bouquets of roses. All the attendants wore bandeaus of roses to match their gowns. Charles W. Marlowe was best man, and ushers were Robert J. Mueller, Edward S. Hawkins, another brother of the bride, Ray L. Biller and John W. Marlowe. The bride attended Butler University and studied physical
therapy at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., and served three years with the Army Medical Corps including 10 months in Manila, P. I. The bridegroom is a graduate of Wabash College, obtained his B.D. degree from Princeton Theological Seminary and his M.A. degree from Butler. Rev. Mr. Hartfelter was assistant pastor of the Tabernacle Church for a number of months, and will take his bride to El Paso, Texas, where he will be pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. . The at-home address will be 2700 Richmond Street, El Paso. LOCALS Miss Rosemary Snyder of Indiana State Teachers College at Terre Haute, spent the holiday and week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Snyder.
